Microblading: Eyebrow Care

Taking care of your beautiful new eyebrows is very important. Please take the time to read over this page so your procedure will give you the most satisfaction!

Swelling and redness is minimal with most clients and will disappear within 24-48 hours. This will not prevent working or socializing.

- PLEASE: Do not resume any hair removal or tinting for the first two weeks.

- Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the tattooed area.

- Wash morning and night for 7 days with a gentle cleanser that I provide. Wash within four hours of getting your eyebrows done. (Make sure to wash outside of the shower. Look in the mirror while washing so you can make sure to be extra gentle. Only wipe gently in the direction of your hair growth, no circles or hard rubbing, wash with cool water and pat dry with a clean paper towel.)

- Keep dry (besides washing) until completely healed. Aka no scabbing or flaking left. Usually ten days.

- Clients still need to try to keep eyebrows dry in the shower... steamy hot showers will cause the pores to open and scabs soften, so to be cautious, no extra hot steamy showers! Avoid the water especially shampoo and conditioner running down, that will cause discoloration.

- Avoid excessive sweating.

- Do Not use a sauna, hot tub, swimming pool or get in the ocean, etc.

- Do not pick, rub, or scratch scabs! Avoid sleeping on the face.

- Avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks.

- No antiaging or acne products on them ever! It will cause fading very quickly. This is anything with chemical exfoliants such as retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, etc.

- Apply balm that I provide three times daily with a q-tip. If you have naturally oily skin use two times daily. Use this balm for two weeks.

- Do not apply makeup to the tattooed area for the first two weeks. chemicals of any kind may interfere with the healing and color of your tattoo.

- Once the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done at your follow up appointment.

The complete healing process takes about six to eight weeks, at which the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten.
PLEASE...Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait for at least six weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after six weeks that your touchup/adjustment can be done. Keep in mind that microbladed brows heal up to 30% softer than the initial color.

- While these tattooed colors may initially simulate the exact color and tone desired, they will not always remain a perfect match, tattooed colors are constant, while your own skin color will vary depending on exposure to cold, heat, sun and circulatory changes.

After Healing

Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen on the treated area. Wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine.

- Glycolic acid, salicylic acid, retinol, face peels, and exfoliation must be kept away from the tattooed area as continued use could lighten the pigment.

- If you are having laser hair removal after your tattoo has healed, please inform the laser technician. Laser procedures may lighten or discolor the tattooed area.
